Bulk Card Entry
Overview
If you have a number of cards to create it will often be quicker to use FlashFact's bulk entry facility. For example, if you want to learn the capital cities of the USA, instead of typing "What is the capital of " 50 times as you create 50 individual cards, you only need to type the state name and capital name pairs one per line. You can then use a template definition to automatically add the "What is the capital of " to each card. After that, you might use the same raw data in combination with a "... is that capital of which state?" template to create another 50 cards.
Step 1 - Select the bulk entry view.

Step 2 - Enter the raw data.

Step 3 - Edit the question/answer template
Use the format <<Field n>> where n is the number field to substitute at this point in the text.
Subject Field - Use the subject field if you want to classify the fact. Separate multiple subjects with commas.
Summary Field - Typically you will leave this field blank to have a default title for each card automatically generated.
If the fields in the bulk data contain a fields which would be useful for the title you can reference that field using the <<Field n>> format. e.g. "<<Field 1>> Capital" would work in the above example. As each card should have a different summary if you enter text in this field you must always reference at least one data field.
Step 4 - Review the preview

In the above example a tab was omitted between Georgia and Atlanta in the source data.
Delimiter - Tab is the default field delimiter, but you can select other delimiters. Use the 'Enter' option if your bulk data contains questions and answers on alternate lines.
Use Line 1 - Deselect this option if the first line of your bulk data contains column headings.
Keep Font - Use this option if you want to retain the font of the source data. Usually the font of the template takes precidence.
¶x2 - Select this option if the bulk data has a blank line between each question/answer pair.
